2025 California Distinguished School

Montemalaga Elementary has been selected for the prestigious 2025 California Distinguished School award. This is a significant achievement, reflecting the hard work and dedication of our entire school community. Kudos to all our students, teachers, staff and families!
Allergy Awareness

Allergy Awareness Update

Student safety is always a priority at Montemalaga Elementary School. The entire staff does an outstanding job making sure that all students are supported and safe in the school environment. Many students attending Montemalaga have severe food allergies. For some of our students, life-threatening allergic reactions to food such as tree nuts, peanuts sesame seeds, and other nuts may occur if food allergy protocols are not followed. Therefore, please take a few moments to discuss the following procedures and guidelines with your children before the start of the new school year. Your support, understanding, and cooperation are appreciated.

Principal's Message

Montemalaga Elementary School serves a unique and culturally diverse population of students who consistently demonstrate high academic achievement in a nurturing environment.  Our beautiful library reinforces the message that we celebrate reading and writing while our STEM lab focuses on building engineering skills utilizing the most recent technology throughout the curriculum. We are proud to be a California Distinguished School and a National Blue Ribbon School. We attribute our success to the strong educational team we have developed among all members of our community, including teachers, parents, students, staff and the principal. We work together to ensure that all students succeed both academically and emotionally. Our goal is for students to become lifelong learners and live as responsible citizens who respect all individuals and make positive contributions inside and outside of the classroom.
